Thompson House
LAKE VIEW HOUSE
Client had a very distinct concept in mind and provided conceptual building elevations as their design brief. They also wanted an energy efficient house with solar panels, water collection and to meet LEED Silver Status as a minimum.
We provided plan layout refinements, elevation refinements and glazing recommendations. The largest design contribution was the patio and sundeck, with the later shifted towards the lake for maximum viewing opportunities. Project was highly detailed and designed with TPO flat roofs which included a stargazing deck accessed through a second story library / guest room tower element. A walkout basement with full kitchenette for a future in-law suite.
Design completed and ready for permits and construction in 2009. Client could not get enough financing at that time because the banking industry did not understand or appreciate the additional LEED certifying features of the design.
